Preoperative care of rhinoplasty:
- Not taking anticoagulant drugs according to the doctor's opinion
- Not taking vitamin E, C, ginseng and all painkillers except acetaminophen for one week before surgery
- Do not take any supplements for 3 weeks prior to surgery
- No smoking or alcohol consumption for 2 weeks prior to surgery
- Taking portrait photos of nose and face from different angles according to doctor's instructions
Rhinoplasty Postoperative Care:

Most patients do not have pain in the nasal area after surgery or have a mild pain that is controlled by taking painkillers such as acetaminophen.
- Use ice compresses for 48 hours on the face to reduce swelling, bruising and bleeding from the nose.
- To reduce the swelling, be elevated under the patient's head during rest for 48 hours.
- Do not sleep on your side for 1 month to avoid a blow to the nose.
- For three weeks, avoid sniffing, straining as much as possible, and sneezing and coughing with the mouth open.
- Avoid bending the head for a long period of time.
- From the third day after the operation، you can bathe from the neck down، but the head and face should not be wet.
- Discharge of blood from the nose up to 4 days after surgery is normal and in case of getting dirty, it is better to replace the dressing under the nose.
- It is best to consume soup and soft rice for two days after the operation and avoid consuming hard foods that require long chewing for 1 month.
- For 1 month, to prevent swelling, avoid foods containing salt and pepper and spicy spice.
- Natural juices should be consumed and hot juices should be consumed from the second week.
- Avoid strenuous activities and sports and sexual activities for at least 8 weeks.
- Swim for four months.
- Avoid exposure to intense sunlight and bronzing for controlling nose swelling for up to three months.
- And the eyes of the moon will be visible for six months.
- For most patients, a mesh or tampon is inserted into the nose, which for some patients it is removed on the same day of surgery and for some patients it is removed a few days after surgery, according to the doctor.
- Do not use a hard toothbrush for a month (the toothbrush should be small and soft).
- Avoid crying, laughing, talking long and lifting heavy objects for up to 1 month.
- Re-visits in the months following surgery are required for checking and controlling the recovery process.
